Ali’s Design a Day practice… the Eastern Smooth Boxfish are often found washed up on the beach on the east coast of Australia. They have a hard skeleton- like structure called a carapace covered with a pattern of triangles and hexagon shapes. In the water their colouration changes with growth - tiny juveniles are completely yellow and develop brown spots with age, while large males are blue with golden sides.
